This has been a loooooooooooong time coming haha I've had the dark wood trim primed for what seems like forever as in before Christmas....I decided a while ago that I was going to repaint the whole house trim and everything because I wanted to be happy with the way the house looked instead of wanting a new house cuz there is NOTHING on the market here so I decided since we're gonna be living here forever (not really it just seems like we will be) I was going to be happy living here and the first step was to paint! I officially finished painting on May 5th!!! Here are my amazing before and afters! I'm so proud of my hard work (and Tawny's cuz she helped me a TON) oh and my husband's hard work too he had a lot of pain in the butt cutting and caulking to do with all the white beadboard that we put up I'm so glad he's so handy!
BEFORE: This is our back door area The Middle pic is a DURING showing the difference in the paint colors. The old color is the darker and the light is the new color! The last picture is AFTER! when it's all new and done!
In the Entry way looking into my kitchen at the pantry doors
Looking down the hallway standing in my kitchen
back is to the hallway looking at this kitchen wall we redid
Kitchen!
Living room!
Living room! SUCH a HUGE difference It makes me sooooo much happier having it so much lighter and brighter and just exactly what I've wanted!
Super old before pic from when we first moved in and re did the garage. check out the entry way the stairs weren't even gone yet LOL anyway it was the only pic i could find to compare lol
Back door area! I'm pretty sure I'll be repainting the inside of the back door I am not liking the gray AT ALL it's just too dark and industrial and just not making me happy lol
My beautiful living room my back is to my back door.
Ignore my gross couches. I will never buy a microfiber couches again!!! ugh! On a happier note though I will be deep cleaning them soon or calling someone to come and steam clean them for me before baby comes!!! along with my living room carpet!
my super cute entry way closet doors! They used to be stupid broken regular bifold doors but I turned them into french doors and added all the cute hardware. The handles look crooked in the pic but they're not in real life promise lol
Entry way
Lee built these sliding barn doors for me and I looooooooove them! they turned out exactly how I wanted and it's so nice to have this storage space covered with doors now! I had before pics of this somewhere but we recently lost all the pictures on our external hard drive :'( and I couldn't find any pics anywhere else. oh well.
Front door! This door color will also be changing! It gave us soooo much trouble spray painting this stupid door! the paint was not putting out the same color consistantly and then it ended up not being the same color as the front outside color which it was supposed to be and omg I could go on with all the issues we had it was just not our day! atleast it's not dirty unpainted white color lol
My happy kitchen!!!! I just love all the colors in my house now!
another back door shot....just not loving that gray. I think I want a light aqua type color or maybe even a happy light yellow color! still can't decide! haha
I put sooooo many hours into painting this house it is ridiculous and the dark stained trim took like 5 coats of paint no joke. 2 layers of primer and 3 coats of the bright white paint!!! ugh! and Lee spent a lot of time after work when he was dead tired doing more on the house for me cuz I was deteremined to get it done before June which we finished it barely into the month of May! awesome! He did also help me with painting a little and he HATES painting but I was so prego I needed his help to keep me motivated haha Tawny also took her two days off to come up and help me paint! The first day was atleast a good 8hours and we did the entire living room and got it ALL done in one day! that included finishing trim paint and two coats of wall paint and omg she was heaven sent! we were so dead at the end of that day my feet and back and pelvis hurt but it was worth it! Then the next day she came over and we finished the entryway which only took about half the time since it's so small. Then I finished the rest of the house in the couple of weeks after that and I've been enjoying it ever since and just can't get enough of it! I can't wait to start shopping for decor and finish my lamps now that I have the house all done and pretty!!! I'm done with any huge room painting projects for a while though haha I definitely got my fill doing most all of the house! hahaha Oh and the paint color I used was called Toasty Gray by BEHR i just had my local hardware store copy the color for me so whenever I ran out I could easily go get more instead of having to rely on getting to home depot for more which is an hour away! Also I retouched up my turquoise in the kitchen and I had my local hardware store color match my ceiling color because I had a lot of old paint color still showing on the ceiling so I touched that up and it looks amazing now of course! so there it is folks! my HUGE want it done before baby comes project is finished!!! now to check off the rest! haha
