Beware of Metal slides :(

So Wednesday (7/16) around 11:30 the boys were playing outside and Drake had crawled up the tree house and was going to come down the slide. I knew I didn't have time to crawl up after him before he came down the slide, so when I felt the slide and it was hot I was worried. Then he started to come down on his belly! the first part of the slide was in the shade but about 2/3rds down had been in the sun. He came down and I grabbed him as soon as I could reach him but the damage had already been done :( At first I didn't realize how bad. He was screaming but I thought maybe it had scared him and burned a little but no then I looked at his arm and knee and it had peeled skin!!! Poor baby!

His knee I think burned the deepest.

His arm and the little spot of skin that was gone :(

My friend Brittney came to the rescue. Her son had just recently been in an accident where he burned his hands in the hot coals of a camp cook fire at their ward camp out and his burns were really bad and she had some cream stuff that they gave her to cool and heal the burn and she had told me randomly weeks before that If I ever needed any to let her know. Well what are the odds that I would! Drake screamed for over an hour because of his burns. mostly the one on his arm that bugged him. I was putting cold wet wash cloths in the freezer to get them a little colder and putting them on his arm and switching them out when they got too warmed up and dry but it still wasn't hardly helping at all. I felt sooo bad for him! I still do! So anyways I called my friend britney up and she rushed over with the cream and bandages and it instantly took the pain away and he stopped crying. She is such a life saver she doesn't think so but she is.

All wrapped up and no longer crying.

Friday 7/18/14
Here's what his burn looked like on Friday. It blistered all over on his arm and he had two big blisters. One near his elbow and one on the fatty part of his palm thumb area.
 his knee :(

Saturday 7/19
The blisters on his arm and hand had popped. It's so hard to keep bandages on this kid. Every time I put him down for a nap or in the mornings I'd go in to get him when he'd woken up and he had either pulled off the bandage before or after he went to sleep.

Monday 7/21
This was his arm yesterday! Looks soooo horrible. Just makes me want to cry for him and tear down the stupid slide in our backyard which will probably be happening I'm so mad.

Today  7/22
SOOOO much better! I was so worried about his burn leaving a huge scar the way it looked yesterday! I was just praying and pleading that it would heal up nicely. So this morning when I was changing his bandages I noticed a lot more of that dark layer of skin peeling so I sat down and Drake layed down and let me peel off all that dead drying out skin and it actually came off really easy and didn't hurt him at all he just layed there and let me do it and it looks sooooo much better I could cry. My prayers were heard and it looks like he is going to heal up just fine. It's amazing how fast little kids heal up. I'm still putting the cream on his arm and bandaging it up so it stays clean and continues to heal but I'm so happy it's starting to look so much better already.
His knee has healed up even quicker and nice than his arm. His knee never looked as bad as his arm.

So moral of the story is beware of metal slides!!! They CAN seriously burn your babies! :( and it doesn't even have to be that late in the afternoon. this happened at 11:30am! I wouldn't have thought it would be that hot already at 11:30am.

Spokane Baby shower!

We had a fun long weekend in Spokane for my baby shower! Lee didn't get to come with us since they were shorthanded at the shop and he had some big sales he needed to stay and finish to make sure they didn't get messed up. So Tawny drove us up to Spokane.
Saturday was the baby shower and we had a headband making station! All the guests got to make Maylee a hair clip!
Here were the final results from everyone who made a hairclip! I love them all they all turned out so well!

Here were the yummy cupcakes we had at the shower! Strawberry and Chocolate.

We had chicken salad croissant sandwhiches a cookie fruit salad and a fruit bowl. The fruit bowl we carved a watermelon like a baby carriage and filled it with watermelon canteloupe grapes and blueberries. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture :(

I made these little favors for everyone who came to the shower!
we had 4 different pinks and I used curling ribbon that said "It's a girl!"
I made the tags in Word and then punched them out with my scalloped punch :)

Me at my baby shower! Ignore my face lol
( I got these pictures off of my friend Leah's blog! I'm so glad she took pictures because I only ended up having pictures of the cupcakes and headband table!)
 All the guests!
We played Baby shower Bingo! While I was opening gifts! It made the gift opening less awkward and more fun for everyone!
Me opening presents haha again ignore my face lol

Maylee is definitely going to be a spoiled little girl! We got so many cute outfits and toys and diapers and everything from this shower! I am just so full of gratitude for everyone! I'm so blessed to have such great friends and family!

My mom bought this fun pool for the boys and Sophie to play in!

Sopie LOVES the water she'd stay in there all day! So doesn't even care that it's cold hose water!

The boys got to ride the motorcycle that Popa got for them! Landon is still too short to touch but that didn't deter him from wanting to do it himself haha He got to ride with popa and decided that was ok too.

More fun in the pool!

I think this picture is so funny. Landon peeking over the slide part of the pool and sophie just looking at him like what are you doing?

Saturday night I got my hair cut! My sister is the best. It's so handy having a cosmetologist for a sister haha I love the dramatic a line cut. Having no hair on the back of my neck is pure heaven especially during the summer it's just the best :)

We headed home from Spokane on Monday early afternoon. and got back Monday night! We all missed Lee and were happy to be home. It was fun to go through all the gifts again and show him everything :) And he didn't die from girly over load either haha

4th of July

Here's my 4th of July catch up post!
Lee bought a new tent that is really compact and light weight and sleeps 4 people so he can go hiking with it so he set it up and we slept in the tent! My back regretted that decision later haha

Didn't get a picture of me in the tent but here's me in my swimsuit haha

4th of July morning we all got ready and went to the parade! The boys loved it and they scored lots of taffy and candy.
Here they are modeling their 4th of July shirts they made!
Lee can never just smile normally for me. But this pic was cut cuz Landon and Zeke were smiling nicely!

Re-do with Lee somewhat smiling normally...that's his fake hurry up and take the picture smile. I swear he's worse than the kids lol

Now a picture with mommy! :)

Drake LOVES watermelon! we cut him his own little slice :) by the end of the night his shirt was so dirty you could tell he had a good 4th.

We also went and watched fireworks here in Ashton on the 4th. I was nervous Drake was going to cry the whole time and hate it but he loved it! which is funny cuz when we did sparkler's he was running away and trying to get into the house because he didn't like them lol
