Goldbug Hotsprings!

South of Salmon ID there's some hot springs! And that's where we went camping for the fourth! It was soooo much fun even though the hike kicked our butts big time! lol

General Description
A chain of waterfall-fed pools await at the end of a grueling 3 mile hike on a shade deprived trail. During hot temps this hike is rough - bring plenty of water or a water filter. There is a bio-toilet about 1.5 to 2 miles in, near one of the shaded primitive sites. The last .5 miles in to the springs are the steepest of the entire route. While most of the path is through a desert landscape filled with sagebrush there are brief cool areas of relief near the creek among the junipers. Goldbug is well-known, and is used by many different types of soakers.

The fairly difficult hike does little to deter the crowds. However, this hot springs is well cared for. The norm here is to pick up your trash and leave as little trace as possible. I'm always happy when I encounter a hot springs where the majority are stewards. Expect a mostly non-swimsuit wearing crowd (signed as clothing optional area) that are polite and friendly. Watch for snakes during the warmer months, this area has many rattlesnakes and other kinds of snakes(We saw a few snakes but the boys killed them and they weren't rattlers!) - the elevation and temperatures are just right.

The description does a good job of describing it to you! The hike was grueling! And I had two kids i was packing! Landon was in the back in a hiking backpack carrier and Zeke was in front in another carrier! Luckily we camped part of the way up cuz it was getting dark and the guys (Lee and his cousins Jon and Jordan) hiked in the dark and took most all of our stuff up that night while Hillarie (Jordan's wife) and I slept in the tent with the kids. The next day we headed out with the rest of our stuff and boy was it HOT!!! and there really is NO shade along the way except the occasional treed area! We were dying! Lee had Landon on his back this time and I just had Zeke but I was still dying! the part that was the worst was the last .5mile for sure!!! it was steep and really rocky and our thighs and shoulders were burning! ( our shoulders from the weight we were carrying) Lee made it up and came back for me and carried Zeke the rest of the way! I was soooo grateful! even without a kid it was killer! I was dreading going back down after the weekend! But going down was way easier and faster! It was hot the day we left but i had both kids and made it almost all the way to the bottom when Lee's cousin Jon came back to help us and he took landon for me! All in all it was tons of fun but we won't be doing it again with as much stuff thats for sure! But we will be doing it again cuz it was awesome!!! Unfortunately my camera SUCKS and it died after only a few pictures so this is pretty much all I have...I'll have to get more from my sister in law! but here's what I got!

The descriptions is right about the naked hippies going up to soak in these hotsprings! we saw our fair share of them over the weekend! This picture is of lee mimicking the pose of one of the naked guys that hiked up there everyday! soooo gross!!!! haha he was really weird he'd even crouch on the rocks like a monkey and just sit there in the buff! I had to keep landon's attention diverted else where otherwise he'd just stand there staring at the guy! embarassing!!! where a swim suit people!

this pool below the hotsprings was so cool! it was the perfect temperature of both the ice cold fast stream and the warm hotsprings so during the day it was the best place to be cuz it was too hot during the day to want to be in the warm water!

Landon LOVED the water! he likes water anyways but the warm water was exactly how he likes it! He didn't ever wanna get out! haha Zeke slept the couple times he was in the water haha

Hotsprings at sunset! At night the hotsprings was the coolest thing ever under the open sky with all the stars out! Soooo cool! we forgot our glowsticks though! it would have been even cooler if we had gotten glow sticks to float around in the water for some cool lighting!

BUSY BUSY BUSY!

I've been so busy lately!!! I'm doing the farmers market here in Ashton this summer and the first one was June 17th so I was sewing like crazy making baby shoes and stuff for the farmers market! And in the middle of all that Lee has been working on the house (constant construction going on around our place I swear! lol) So anyways the first farmers market went OK I sold a few things but it was pretty slow being the first one. I got lots of compliments on my stuff and people wanting to buy my stuff but they just didn't have or know anyone with babies! oh well hopefully this Friday it goes better! :) fingers crossed! And I'll be having a booth on the 4th of July too which I'm excited about because TONS of people will be in town for the parade and car show and everything that's going on that day! So hopefully I'll do good!

Lee's big project for the week was getting the inside stairs that go up to the apartment put outside so Hillary & Jordan (Lee's Cousin) could have a separate entrance!

Obviously we're not completely done yet he needs to put the railing up the stairs but it works for now until he gets a spare second! He's been crazy busy and work and just comes home dead and most days still does work outside and works out with his cousin! I don't know how he finds the energy!

Inside where the stairs used to be big hole in the ceiling now! haha He's got part of the floor/ceiling in now but there is still a square hole left but Lee and Jordan both like that they can yell back and forth for eachother and climb up and down it instead of having to go outside lol haha


The hole in the floor after the stairs were takin' out......and NO MORE HOLE! yay!!! so nice to be able to walk through the entry way instead of avoiding the hole in the ground! lol

When the people before us built on the apartment above the garage to this house (The garage is now our living room...) they didn't take the siding off the house before adding on...don't aske me why they didn't but they didn't and we've found so many other retarded things like this about our house it's kinda funny! 'course it makes lee's job harder when he goes to build cuz everything is crooked but it makes it intersting for him i guess hahaha

OUCH!

Lee smashed the heck out of his pinky a couple weeks ago at work! And boy did it hurt! If lee is feeling the pain you know he's really hurting! He thought he maybe even broke it! But he was able to move it so I highly doubt it was broke but it was swollen up sooo huge! These pictures don't even do it justice!

A few days later lee hit his pinky causing it to swell again and cut his middle finger up in the process!


Ow! There was so much pain and pressure from the swelling and the blood under the nail that lee broke down and went to the medical clinic here in Ashton and asked how much it would be for them to take care of it and it would've been like a hundred bucks! So he said screw that and did his own doctoring! He didn't want to cost the shop a hundred bucks since he injured himself at work his uncle would've just paid for it but he didn't want to do that so instead he got a needle and his vice grip pliers lit a match and heated up the end of the needle and poked a hole through his nail and pushed out as much blood as he could and it worked! He felt soooo much better after releasing that pressure! It was pretty gross how much blood came out from under his nail! Today his pinky is still black and may even fall off eventually but it hasn't yet and it doesn't bother him anymore so atleast he's not in pain! haha funny how such a little finger with a seemingly small injury can cause so much pain!

Oh and since bad things happen in three's a day or so after injuring and reinjuring his pinky he was working on a split wheel (really old and dangerous stupid tires) and he was hitting off the ring that was so old and rusted it was stuck and as he hit it the ring all of a sudden popped up and off hitting him in the mouth! He had THEE hugest swollen lip I've ever seen and since his mouth was open when it hit him it hit his teeth and made them a little crooked but luckily he has a retainer so he put it on and wore it the rest of the night so he's teeth would move back to where they were supposed to be! You couldn't tell by looking at them that they were out of place but when he bit down he could tell...I'm glad it wasn't worse and that it didn't knock out any of his teeth! I took him some tylenol and made him an ice pack and he worked the rest of the day even though he felt like crap! Oh and did i mention he woke up that morning feeling sick to his stomach and had a headache too??? Yeah poor Lee! Luckily he hasn't had anything else happen to him since! I like to keep it that way!

I have a feather in my hair!

And it is AWESOME! I LOVE it! We were visiting my brother and sister in law in utah and my sister in law and her friends had a girls night and one of her friends had bought these feather hair extensions and shared them with everyone! Which is so nice because their like 5-7bucks for one feather! crazy! So anyways i got one and I love it!!! It's so much fun! they come in all kinds of colors too! this one is just black and white but i'd love to get a pink or purple or teal one! :)

Landon and his Horses

We were at Winco several weeks ago and we found this big horse for 9.99! We were so excited for such a big horse and a great price too! we just had to get it for Landon! He of course LOVES it! He rolls around on the ground with it and drags it everywhere and uses it as a pillow! you name it he does it with that horse and he wants to bring it with us everywhere! haha








The the next saturday after we found that big horse Lee was at the DI and he found THIS HORSE:


Yes this horse is as big as my love seat couch!!! It's GYNORMOUS especially compared the the "big" horse we found the week before haha Annnnd it was only 5BUCKS!!!! Landon didn't even know what to do with himself! He was in the tub when Lee brought it home and as soon as Lee showed it to him he was scrambling out of the tub to get the horse! hahaha This is him trying to drag it to the living room to play with it butt naked and dripping wet! hahaha


Two of Landons most favorite things!!! Horses and his baby brother!!! I LOVE this picture cuz except for me propping Zeke up next to landon it wasn't staged at all landon was already laying there with his horses just relaxing haha!

Landon HAS to sleep with his horseseven though they take up all the room in his crib and hardly leave any space for him! and he even has a horse blankey he sleeps with too! haha

He rides this horse all the time and tries dragging it all over and throws fits when we don't let him bring it with him every time we leave the house haha he is in Horse Heaven with all his horses! and he rotates riding each one too haha He also has his spring bounce horse that he bounces on too and watches movies on! You name it and he's doing it with any one or all of his horses! haha

Zeke's 2 Month Stats

Zeke is such a happy growing boy! He's definitely bigger than Landon was at this age! He's already wearing 3 month clothes! I had to wait till landon was 3 1/2 months old before i finally got to dress him in 3 month clothes! and even then it was only for the length! haha

At 2weeks old he was 20.3in long
Zeke is now 23.6in long (70%!!!
pretty sure landon never made it to 70% for anything! haha)
and at 2 weeks he weighed 8lbs 1oz and now he weighs 11lbs 8oz (40%)

He thinks he's a hungry hippo all the time so at the rate he's eating I wouldn't be surprised if he's gained more weight already :)
He's smiles all the time sucks on his fists coo's and wiggles lots and likes to spit bubbles

Landon still can't get enough of his baby brother and I'm glad I can't wait to see them play together and be best friends!
