Best Valentine's Day EVER!!!

Well I have to admit I wasn't expecting much if anything this Valentine's Day. So all last week I was dropping hints to lee reminding him of when Valentine's Day was and that the latest twilight movie was coming out the Saturday before Valentine's Day HINT HINT HINT. And all week he kept saying things like what day is Valentine's Day again? And I'd just glare at him feeling like my efforts were pointless. Also I was kinda mad at him last week because he had told me that he was going to take Tuesday off so we could have all day together for Valentine's Day. Naturally I was beyond excited. Then Sunday night he was on the phone with his cousin figuring out his work schedule and told him that he would work Tuesday!!! I was sooo mad cuz I was so looking forward to him finally having a day off and finally getting to spend all day with him. Little did I know it was all a part of his plan.
Then Monday night came along the night before Valentine's day and Lee was playing video games with his brother usually I don't mind because he doesn't get to play let alone have someone to play with very often. So I started reading my book for book club it was after dinner and getting later and later and I just kept waiting for him to come to bed. It's a good thing it's a good book cuz it was like 11:00ish and he still wasn't coming to bed and neither was his brother leaving...so i went out there tried to get his attention was ignored and went back to bed sooo I was thinking hmmm.....maybe he's staying up late because he really doesn't have to go to work tomorrow! so I wasn't too mad thinking he'd stay home...He eventually came to bed around midnight. Then in the morning when I woke up he was up and dressed for work and making us all pancakes. I was so bummed he was still going to work, It's a good thing he made pancakes. So I went and got all his Valentine's gifts together to give to him before he left for work. So anyways...Here's what he got for Valentine's Day...

Landon helped make this card for Lee...

And I made this love note valentine for Lee out of sweet hearts! The first sweet hear said Hey Babe! Then I filled it in saying I just wanted to let you know that "UR HOT" hahaha and just continued on...He really loved it I was surprised I felt like a first grader making it and didn't expect him to love it as much as he did so that made me feel good.

And Then I got him some Almond Joy Pieces! Apparently Almond joy's are his ulitmate favorite even though he told me his favorite was reeses peanut butter cups...Atleast I found out before Valentine's day haha

So he got all his stuff and he loved it and I was feeling good and slowly getting over that he was leaving for work. So he left for work and I started passing the time hoping it would go fast. Then around 11:00 someone knocked on the door so I ran to go answer it (still in my pajamas with no make up and crazy hair...attractive I know lol) and it was Lee!!!!! I was soooo surprised! He was standing there with a bouquet of daisies (my favorite) and a bunch of other little gifts for me!!!
I was sooo happy that alone made my day but it was only the start. (He actually never went to work that morning he was hanging out at his brother's house here in Ashton putting together all my stuff for me! He had gotten it all earlier in the week except for the flowers that he got that morning)

Here's my beautiful happy flowers!
LOVE all the colors :) He knows me well :)
Along with the flowers he also got me some Almond M&M's, a Symphony Bar, Two purple 5lb weights that I can work out with, annnnd the latest twilight movie on bluray! :) :) :) I was one happy girl! He also wrote me the best love not I've ever received. He bought me each thing for a reason for example the symphony bar represented the symphony of music that plays in his heart for me! how cute right? He even counted all the petals on the flowers and had meanings for it too! Then he told me I had an hour to get ready for our date. So I rushed off took a shower got ready couldn't find anything to wear, finally decided on an outfit and his mom came and babysat. First thing we went and did was eat lunch I was expecting to eat lunch in rexburg but he surprised me and took me to a place called The Gingerbread Run Cafe here in Ashton just up the highway. It was sooo good all the food is homemade the bread the make there sandwhiches with-homemade sourdough. I had a steak mushroom sandwhich and he had chicken and bacon. Sooo good. Then after lunch we headed into Rexburg and according to his Schedule that he had we went shopping. First to CAL ranch where I didn't find anything but he did and he looked sooo good in it too. I'll have to take a picture and post it sometime. He's been wanting a cowboy hat forever for like camping and working and what not and so he finally got one and a nice western type shirt to go with it. I still hadn't found anything so we headed to Down East and Walmart( I didn't really expect to find anything at walmart but it was worth a try) ...still nothing....Then we went to Maurice's and I got to pick out an entire outfit!!! The whole time we were shopping I kept picking out stuff for the kids and Lee was like Michelle you need to be selfish and get something for you this one time! Stop picking out stuff for the kids! haha So Maurice's was perfect cuz it was all clothes just for me no kids or guys stuff. So anyways here's what we ended up picking out thanks to the mannequin wearing all of this! I saw it and loved it!

The boots were mine already and just went awesome with the outfit.
I love the turquoise top with the crochet looking detail on it and the belt and black over sweater and feather earrings and new jeans! It felt soooo good to get a whole new outfit! I haven't gone shopping for me in forever. It was a much needed special treat! :)
Here's a clos up of the detail on the shirt and the necklace... The necklace has feathers on it too :)
My cute belt! :) The original belt that the mannequin was wearing was the same color as my boots and I LOVED it, but they only had it in a large and it was way too big so the girl brought me like 5 other belts to choose from and I settled on this one! :) I'll have to take a picture of me in this outfit so you can see how cute it is on. :)

So I left the store wearing my new outfit and Lee took me to the cheap theatre and we went and watched War Horse. It wasn't my favorite movie but it wasn't horrible either. We had both been wanting to see it so we snuck in our laffy taffy candy that we had bought earlier and enjoyed the movie. After the movie it was just a little after 6 and we went and ate out again :) We went to wingers and it was so good :) we didn't even have to wait that long either only 10-15mins on valentine's day, not bad at all. The food was good and we were stuffed. Then after dinner we went back to walmart cuz I remembered I had to get some more formula for Zeke so we went shopping and were able to fit all our stuff in the cart! amazing the things you can do without kids! haha Then before we headed home we stopped at The Dollar store and picked up a Valentine's gift for Lee's mom for watching our kids all day! We got her a red heart shaped balloon and a nice card, a puzzle and some glow stick bracelets in a cute Valentine bag :) She loved it :) And surprisingly enough the kids were in bed when we got home! Then Lee and I watched my new twilight movie :) and ate our candies :) and then went to bed. All in all it was a GREAT Valentine's Day! I was completely surprised that he had actually planned ahead and had this all ready all along. :)

Day 9 of Organizing challenge

Well Day 9 was yesterday and it was Toy organization but I'm skipping it and coming back to it because I don't have any containers right now to organize the toys. I have recently gone through the boys toys though and got rid of like 2 boxes! Ridiculous! I still need to go through them again. Especially since Zeke's first birthday is coming up. I'm hoping to get some containers soon that have lids so that I can have all the cars in one container with a lid. All the animals in another with a lid and so on... That way whenever he wants to play he gets one bucket of toys and when he's done he puts them back and can have a different bucket. Hopefully this will help with controlling the mess and scattering of toys that i'm constantly picking up and always stepping/tripping over. We'll see....I'm going to look online today for some containers...I want them to be clear and I really need/want them to have a lid.

Day 8 of Organizing challenge

Day 8 was to clean my coat closet. Lucky for me this was fairly easy because Lee had taken everything out, except for what was on the upper shelf so he could tile the entry way and as soon as he was done I re hung everything neatly and put the strollers back in nicely. So really all I had to do was reorganize the top shelf which really wasn't hard at all. Here's Before....

Games and stuff are kinda scattered in the closet...not so pretty.
further back view.

And AFTER
Games are neatly stacked to the left of the closet along with puzzels and a box of cards. The two baskets up there I dumped and reorganized so one holds scarves and the other holds hats and gloves.

Tada! And check out the FINISHED entry way!!! yay for tile flooring!!! It's so nice having it all done! no more ply wood flooring and tools in my entryway!

Day 7 of the Organizing Challenge

Day 7 was the pantry...I was kinda dreading this one just because our pantry is so big and we had recently restocked our shelves with food...but luckily it really wasn't that bad because when I restocked I also reorganized so It wasn't as bad to tidy up as I thought.

Here is Before....
not too bad if you look at the shelves it was mostly the stuff on the floor....That box was half full of real Idaho spuds straight from the fields one of the joys of living in Ashton free potatoes. I recently cooked up the last of the potatoes so that box was out of there when I got cleaning!

Ok here was After...

That floor looks so much better! I swept it all out got it organized. I'm going to cut out vinyl letters for my buckets so I can tell what is in which bucket. But I haven't got to it yet.

Here's all the cans all organized...

ahhhh... now I just can't wait for lee to finish the flooring so I don't have ugly plywood showing anymore :)

Day 6 Organizing challenge

Day 6 has come and gone and I did succeed in fulfilling my challenge. It's just been busy around here lately so I haven't gotten a chance to post it. Day 6 was Dresser Drawers. I just recently went through all of our dresser drawers through out a bunch of stuff to donate and reorganized them all and so far it has stayed that way. So I opted to do our nightstand drawers...and boy did they need it. Here is before....don't judge me I don't know how it happened it just did...I blame Lee lol.

Ok BEFORE Lee's Side of the bed....

Ummmm...Yeah what a mess...But don't worry the good wifey is to the rescue...

AFTER...
ahhhhh sooo much better! and it's still lookin' this nice so so far!

Ok MY side of the bed...BEFORE....

Ummmm yeah like I said...I blame lee. haha

AFTER.......

Sooo much better! I can actually find things now and everything has a place! Landon is totally uninterested in this drawer now that everything "fun" is put away :)

a little kitchen makeover

So the other day I was at the hardware store here in Ashton helping my brother in law pick out colors for his house and I came across the most perfect color for my kitchen. I've disliked the color of my kitchen since I painted it. It just didn't turn out the way I had wanted but I couldn't decide which color I was going to change it to. Here is my kitchen color before...
I was so excited to paint I forgot to take a before picture so here is a picture from when we first moved in. It was a light green color. It was nice but just not me at all.

Here is after..........

TURQUOISE!!! It really is this bright and happy! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!! Everytime I walk into my kitchen it makes me smile!!! :) The color is called Innocent Turquoise and it's a Valspar Medallion color :) In case you were wondering.

Here's a view of the whole kitchen. This picture is a little dark.

And then a day or two later I added vinyl words!

It was so hard to choose what quote I wanted to put in my kitchen so I finally just chose it cut and put it up and I'm happy with my choice. I wanted it to be a kitchen-y quote :)
I love this font. I got it from fontspace.com and used it with my silhouette machine to cut out the vinyl letters myself :)
:D doesn't that just make you smile? LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Oh and did I mention I did this all without Lee knowing? haha I went and bought the paint and painted two coats all before he got home. He came in and I was cooking dinner trying not to smile and act like nothing had happened and he was telling me about work and then he left to go change out of his work clothes and I was like "Lee! Did you notice anything different about the Kitchen? And he was like, " Yeah hun it looks great it's nice and clean." bhahaha he didn't even notice so I was like ok well what do you think about it's color? I painted the whole kitchen today! and he came back and looked and was like oh my gosh I thought I smelled paint. hahahaha sooo funny he didn't even notice! :) he loves it just as much as I do and he's even happier that he didn't even have to help paint it! :)

The next day I cut out the vinyl quote and put it up while he was at work and he DID notice the quote and likes it too. :)

Day 5 of organizing Challenge

Day 5's Challenge was to organize under the Kitchen sink! I was so excited for this day I had to keep myself from jumping ahead. haha underneath my Kitchen sink has been in need of cleaning....here's my mess.
plastic bags everywhere a bunch of gloves without pairs...

Can you say GROSS??? I was so excited to clean this up! luckily it came right up and I found a bunch of single gloves without pairs and of course the plastic bags were everywhere and all kinds of cleaner bottles. I moved ALL my cleaners except the non toxic one up above my washer and dryer where I know Landon cannot get them. He's gotten into the fabreeze a couple of times and sprayed zeke and himself and I did NOT want that to happen with cleaners. I do have child locks on the cabinets but he knows how to get them undone so for peace of mind I put them up high out of his reach.

I also got to sneak in a craft project for my under the sink organization! I just used an old nesquick container covered it in super cute scrapbooking paper, labeled it for Lee's sake, and cut an x in the top of the lid and I cut off the points in the center so it wouldn't rip my bags as I pull them out! NO MORE BAG MESS!! yay!

Here are the AFTER pictures!

Ahhhh!!! soooo clean and sparkley!!! My dishwasher soap and hand washing dish soap are under here along with some scrubbies one pair of gloves garbage bags and my cut container full of plastic bags oh and some vacuum bags. And I fixed the child locks on the cabinet so they are secure and working. They were loose and you could pull them right open but not anymore!

Pretty pretty! Now go attack your under the sink area! You know you want to! :)

Oh and P.S. I'm still rockin' it on my 30 workout challenge. They're just getting a little harder to write down and keep track of because we're doing a lot of combinations but just know that I am still doing them!!! Maybe I'll start posting the youtube video's of my workouts so you can see what I'm doing :)
You can join the challenge here Just scroll to the bottom of the page for the very first workout :) It's also easiest if you start the workout on a Monday. That way your days line up with their workout titles. You work out 5 days a week and Saturday and Sunday are active rest days. :)
